Minibus Hit by Train in Turkey

Dramatic footage, broadcast by EAC News, has captured the moment a minibus was hit by an oncoming freight train in Turkey. In the clip, captured by CCTV, a few seconds earlier the minibus can be seen maneuvering around what looks like a lowered barrier as cars queue behind another one in the opposite lane. Why the driver chose to cross the line anyway, with the train so close, we will never know. He died along with his five passengers. Seven bystanders were injured.

Suicide Bomber Hits Pakistan Military

The fallout of the Taliban’s recapture of Afghanistan is being felt across the border in Pakistan. Three paramilitary soldiers have been killed in a suicide bombing in the southwest border town of Quetta. 20 others were wounded. Police says the suicide bomber was on a motorbike packed with explosives when he rammed into a military convoy. The Islamist militant organization, Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, has claimed responsibility for the attack. It has renewed its allegiance to the Afghan Taliban after the fall of Kabul. It says it is stepping up its campaign against the Pakistani army.

Surfer Killed by Shark in New South Wales

And, a surfer has been killed in a shark attack just off Emerald Beach in New South Wales, Australia. Paramedics rushed to the scene, but were unable to save the man who had critical injuries to one of his arms and back. Bystanders tried to deliver CPR before paramedics took over, but the man, said to be in his 30s, died on the beach. Emerald Beach is one of Coffs Harbour’s biggest attractions. Officials say the incident has been “devastating”.
